Regards all,
I am just a person on the edge of this Universe. I support
understanding for its sake and open exploration and tweaking to make
something better and more useful than it was before.
My question is, just a question, not a judgement of who we are, just a
question. Who profits, who loses?
True VXers and HKrs are artful programmers who understand the machine at
the most intimate level. Can conjure a bit shift and leverage in 17
bits, a hook onto a weak library and gain shell. NICE!!!
Bigger picture; the folks who write to float VXs on the Universe do so
for little more than satisfaction. OK cool dude, someone loses a file.
But who gets paid for the hard work.
Thoughts:
M$ gets free programming talent for hacks and debugging of slop.
(M$Millions)
SymNort gets another Chimera, which they did not even have to create, to
rail about and drive sales of the latest bloat-ware up. (SNBillions)
The govts can play the fear card on the public and pass laws that allow
others to see what is in my porn of the month que. Jo3 bitches in an
email without any intent to act and is now on a watch list or worse.
(What cost here?)
A few get a job with M$, SN or other, maybe a govt job. Great and good
stuff for a few.
M$ and SN still make the big money and are saviours of the Universe with
the next patch, the wheel turns. The govts around the world who are
designated guardians of free-dooms and our collective liberties can
monitor once private conversations against subversion (Maybe a judgement
there).
So what next? OpenSource - hope that public will pay for support? How to
get rewarded for being clever. Don't know...
The wheel turns...
